    C-State Buoy App

    This application provides near real-time oceanographic and atmospheric data from coastal buoys within Cawthron's Ocean Observing System.

    The Ocean Plastic Simulator is an ultra-fast, interactive modeling tool developed by researchers at Nelson’s Cawthron Institute to help teach people about the issues rising from plastic waste.

    BeNeZe

    BeNeZe is a kingfish parasite diagnosis and management tool. It helps fish farmers identify and treat BenedeniaseriolaeNeobenedenia girellae, and gill fluke Zeuxapta seriolae infections in kingfish and amberjacks (Seriola species).

    Pest Alert Tool

    Researchers on the Cawthron-led Marine Biosecurity Toolbox research programme have developed the Pest Alert Tool, an online server/application specifically designed for screening HTS datasets for marine non-indigenous species (NIS) and unwanted or notifiable marine organisms in New Zealand.

    LOFeR - Level of Fouling assessment training tool

    LOFeR is app allowing you to train and test your assessment of the Level of Fouling (LOF) on submerged surfaces of boats. The LOFeR app contains a range of training and operational resources to build familiarity and consistency when using the LOF method.

    Rapid Habitat Assessment

    The Rapid Habitat Assessment (RHA) provides a ‘habitat quality score’ for a river reach which indicates general stream habitat condition for the physical aspect, such as the structure of the stream banks or the nature of the stream bed.

    eDNA Protocol for Biomonitoring

    The Environmental DNA Protocol Development Guide for Biomonitoring and Environmental DNA Test Validation Guidelines harmonise minimum quality standards to develop eDNA-based protocols and tests for biomonitoring applications.

    Level of Fouling scale

    The LOF scale is a method for rapidly characterising biofouling, the accumulation of marine plants and animals, on the submerged surfaces of boats and ships. It is a nominal rank scale with six categories, running from LOF 0 (completely clean) to LOF 5 (very heavily fouled).
